After getting to bed very early, today we slept in a bit. We had great breakfast at a small cafe. I had a breakfast bap, which is a sandwich with egg, bacon, sausage, potatoes and “homemade relish.” The relish was tomato based and tasted a bit like ketchup. We then walked around the Eyre Square area, getting a bit away from the more touristy parts.
Knowing we’d still be tired from travel, the main event of the day was the Hop On Hop Off tour of the city. We got off in Salt Hill for a walk around, and had a lovely time in the Circle of Life Garden (see separate post.) We then walked along the promenade, and touched the Galway Bay water. Lunch was sandwiches (no picture! But I had a cranberry-turkey panini.)

After lunch, a bit more walking then rest. Cheryl and Cindy made an excursion to the grocery story to pick up a few essentials. We had dinner at Monroe’s. I had a very tasty chicken and mushroom pie. I even had a half-pint of Guinness

Walking back to the Airbnb, we came across live music in a little bar called the Dew Drop Inn. We listened to some lovely traditional music for about an hour.

Tomorrow is a bus tour of Connemara and Kylemore Abbey. Not too early a start but will be long day.
