I’m having fun, staying busy, and I’m tired, so it’s been hard to keep track of the time. I have to check the day/date every time I start writing one of these posts. I know, woe is me LOL.
It’s Wednesday and I am halfway through my trip!
I realized I have neglected to mention our tour guide, Patrick. He is central casting’s idea of a tour guide: personable, funny, full of stories, and knowledgeable about the history and culture of Ireland. And he skillfully maneuvers a huge coach around impossibly tiny roads.
We drove to Slieve League to see the highest cliffs in Ireland. I climbed only a short way up the steep hill: the stone steps were at different angles and heights, and it was extremely windy. I tried to put on my windbreaker but ironically, it flapped too much in the wind and I couldn’t get it on.
On the ways back to our hotel, Patrick dropped a few of us off in Donegal town. I took the opportunity to visit the local castle, grab tea and a scone, and do a little bit of shopping.
Another delicious dinner, and another chance to meet more tour participants. Dessert was the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. To round out the evening, a short acoustic performance by HoH.
We have an early start tomorrow so I am keeping this short. Tomorrow we are off to Derry/Londonderry and Northern Ireland.
